Route maps are being released by Ordnance Survey

Is your bike shop on the Tour of Britain 2014 route?

We’re just a few weeks away from the Friends Life Tour of Britain 2014 and to mark the occasion, Ordnance Survey and Tour organiser SweetSpot are releasing the route maps to retail.

The new route maps are available in a range of formats and can be viewed, downloaded or exported as GPX files for mobile devices, allowing cyclists to try out the routes or spectators to pick the best spot to watch.

In case you missed it earlier this year, the 8 stage race will hit the following:

Stage Date Location/route Distance (km)
1 Sunday 7 September Liverpool city centre 104.8km
2 Monday 8 September Knowsley to Llandudno 201km
3 Tuesday 9 September Newton to The Tumble 179.7km
4 Wednesday 10 September Worcester to Bristol 184.6km
5 Thursday 11 September Exmouth to Exeter 177.3km
6 Friday 12 September Bath to Hemel Hempstead 205.7km
7 Saturday 13 September Camberley to Brighton 226km
8a Sunday 14 September London individual time trial 8.8km
8b Sunday 14 September London circuit race 88.8km

BikeBiz Towers is luckily close not only to the stage 6 conclusion at Hemel Hempstead, but also the London finale.

"We have created a complete mapping package for the Friends Life Tour of Britain allowing cyclists and fans to either download and print route maps, view the stages via interactive online OS maps or export GPX files of the stages for mobile devices," said Ordnance Survey MD Nick Giles.
