3.6 million Euro facility will produce 15 million bicycle chains annually

KMC to open Vietnamese factory; big brands invest

KMC is to invest around €3.6 million in a Vietnamese factory later this year, reports Bike Europe.

The proposed facility will be located near KMC’s existing Vietnamese division, which already produces 10 million chains annually, although these are primarily for the motorcycle market.

The new build should be capable of producing an estimated 15 million bicycle chains per year.

It is also reported that Merida, Gaint and Shimano are set to invest in the business, with Giant having agreed to purchase 1.5 million shares in the business.
