May new product round up

Suarez Elite Bib shorts
Direct : 07545593413

Suarez is looking for dealers to get in touch with a view to sampling some of the Columbian firm’s gear.
For those who specialise in high-quality road cycling goods, the Elite line provides many of the head-turning goods within the catalogue, with the Elite Bib Short a fine example.
The Elite Plus range comes with a compression system that supports and improves blood circulation, reducing muscular fatigue. Another feature is the Active Carbon System, which offers highly efficient moisture transfer rate. The Elite Chamois is a soft anti-bacterial, anti-friction and flatlock stitched, meaning the Bib short offers plenty of performance advantages on a garment that doesn’t cost the earth.
The bib shorts come in three stylish colours with a relaxed fit and all the latest fabric technology built in.

Proporta cases and mounts
Direct: 08451232848

Proporta is best known for its high-end phone and iPad cases, as well as side projects, which the firm tells BikeBiz it creates once a year to challenge the team.
This year’s alternative product has been designed in collaboration with Camera Demon, a small firm created to address the gap in the market for helmet mounts for everyday compact digital cameras.
The Camera Demon is a slimline unit which simply fixes to the helmet’s curves with an adhesive patch that can reportedly keep a weight of up to three kilograms stable – apparently enough to hold a full size DSLR if you’re brave enough.
Clipping easily in and out of the fixed bracket via a quick release lever, the Camera Demon fits all standard threads found on cameras and the bracket will rotate through 360 degrees, as well as tilting front to back, allowing the rider to fix their desired angle.
Proporta also has plenty of other products suited to the bike market, from iPhone cases designed alongside Ted Baker sporting bicycles, to waterproof cases for mobiles and kindles.

Breffo Spiderpodium
Direct to retail: 02920 003298

One of the more versatile bike-mounted phone holding devices we’ve come across, the Breffo Spider Podium was initially designed as a tripod for difficult situations, but has evolved to be capable of holding phones and tablets securely to a bike’s stem, among other applications.
The British steel frame is coated with a soft rubber, which together bend easily around a device. The eight legs wrap entirely around all the smart phones we’d tried it with here at BikeBiz.
The spiderpodium is supplied with an insert that slips into the central cutout to hold, or hang, digital cameras making this a particularly useful product to those who like to document their outdoor adventures.
The Spiderpodium suited to mobile phone sized devices retails for £14.95 and comes in a variety of colours.

Zipp’s disc ready Firecrest 303
Fisher Outdoors: 01727 798345

The Sram Group has further signalled its intention to take road going disc wheelsets (and 11-speed) seriously with the launch of the Zipp Firecrest – to be available as a carbon clincher or tubeless wheelset.
Though the press imagery suggests the wheelset is aimed at the cyclocross rider, there’s nothing to explicitly state as much in the branding.
Compatible with Shimano and Campagnolo’s 11-speed offerings, the hub will roll on larger Swiss stainless steel bearings than previous versions of the popular wheelset, upping the longevity. It’s laced in a 24 spoke three cross pattern, optimised for stiffness and acceleration. The Firecrest’s race-proven, braking surface free, 45mm rim depth is both stable and aerodynamic and features the dimpled surface of previous models.
The wheelset will land with worldwide distributors from July. The carbon clincher will cost around €2,600 a pair, while the tubulars are to retail for €2,300. Weights are 1,680g and 1,435g, respectively.

Santa Cruz Bronson
Jungle Products: 01423 780088

Based around a designed from the ground up new frame, suited to 650B wheels, Santa Cruz’s Bronson is described as a ‘new perspective on what a 6-inch travel bike can conquer.”
With both carbon and aluminium frames winging their way to distribution partner Jungle Products as we type this very magazine. There will be a large range of finishing kit options, as well as ten possible decal combinations for the Enve spec wheelset. The Bronson will now take over as the Santa Cruz Syndicate’s race build.
As standard, the frame will come with a custom tuned Fox Float CTD Evolution, though upgrades to a custom tuned Kashima Float CT with an adjustable boost valve will also be stocked.
Aluminium models will land this month, while carbon spec framesets and builds should already be on the way out to dealers.
