Prices for bike, frame, wheelsets and more revealed

Velocite seeking UK retail partners

Velocite Bikes is seeking retail partners to carry its range of performance road and mountain bikes, wheelsets and various other goods.

Revealing a full price list for its revised 2012 line up, the brand can offer three premium carbon road frames, one alloy road frame and a high-end carbon MTB hardtail, now all available in a number of UK specific build options, or as frame only. Velocite also manufactures a portfolio of carbon components and high quality road wheels, as well as a Swiss-designed clothing line.

All carbon fibre frames and complete builds utilising one will carry a lifetime warranty. All carbon bikes also come with Shimano DuraAce Di2 and Ultegra Di2 build options.

Aimed very much at the high-end market and those seeking to upgrade their current rides, the road range starts with the alloy framed Selene with its lifetime frame warranty and shot-peened finish. The frame only retail price will be £580, with complete bikes starting at £1,690 retail for the Sram Apex build option.

It’s the top-end rigs that’ll draw in the enthusiasts, however, with the Velocite Flux carbon MTB hardtail available in a wide range of options, including Sram XX, X0 and X9/X7 builds, as well as Shimano SLX, XT and XTR options.

Prices for the Flux 3.0 SLX start at £2,500 and go up to the flagship Flux 1.0 model with full Sram XX and Fulcrum Red Metal 1 wheels for £5,350. The XTR fitted bike with SiD XX fork is £5,130 and custom builds are available with the frame only price set at £1,300.

Mark Almond of marketing firm Red Cloud told BikeBiz today: "We now have retailer demo Geos and Magnus models available to try with a Selene and FLux MTB on the way. We encourage retailers to try them out as riding is believing. I’ll personally take the bikes to the retailer to try out."

Other components and accessories range from Velocite water bottles at £4 each, to a full carbon SCS saddle weighing in at only 113 grams for £130.

Velocite is now inviting UK retailers to sign up as stockists with strong margins on offer and full marketing support available free of charge to all stockists courtesy of Red Cloud.

The UK specific website is due to go live in the next few weeks and a full media and marketing plan is already in place including sponsorship deals, advertising, PR and events. At present, see www.velocite-europe.com for more.
