Enhanced wheelsets across rim depths are stiffer, more durable and more aerodynamically efficient

Zipp’s new Firecrest come into stock for UK dealers

Zipp’s latest Firecrest and 202 Tubular wheels – from the 202 to 808 – feature a 77/177 hubset. Efficiencies in manufacturing have brought down the costs too, the brand says.

The new wheelsets feature newly designed quick release skewers with a wider, ergnomic handle for improved leverage – when closed the lever contours neatly with the frame. Firecrest sees inmproved bearing protection and sealant and are bearing preload precision set so no pre-load adjustment is ever needed, according to the brand.

Torsional and lateral stiffness has been optimised without weight or robust-style compromises, we’re told, thanks to optimised flange geometry and spole hole attachment pattern with Sapim CX Sprintspokes.

The new hub tech has been laced into the 202 Tubular; 202 Firecrest Carbon Clincher; 303 Firecrest Tubular and Carbon Clincher; 404 Firecrest Tubular and Carbon Clincher; 404 (650c) Firecrest Carbon Clincher, and 808 Firecrest Tubular and Carbon Clincher.

Zipp’s distributed to the trade via Raleigh and Fisher.
