Yesterday the three-hour digital TV programme Simply Money went to town on bikes, thanks to the press release put out by Merlin of the charity Re-Cycle (which was carried on this site in March)

Presented by former newsreaders Angela Rippon and Jan Harvey, Simply Money is the UK’s first digital consumer television channel. Its on Sky Digital channel 522 and is live every weekday between 7.00am-10.00am.

It may not have a huge audience but even minority TV stations have a bigger reach than most mainstream magazines.

With so much time to fill Simply Money is always hungry for news and yesterdays feature on cycling may not be the last if more companies start to send their press releases to the programme.

Yesterday the feature was on the costs of running a bike compared to running a car as well as the best deals on cycle insurance, where to ride, where to buy etc.

Some of the information was supplied by www.bikebiz.co.uk after a programme researcher started asking us questions.

To get more cycling content on the programme add Simply Money to your PR mailing list. The programme has a website. Theres this appeal on there:
