The Business Design Centre couldn't cope with hundreds of thousands of visitors but Cycle 2002 will still get the pro-bike concept out to the masses, so even those who don't get to the show will be on-message.

Radio and telly progs to be broadcast from Cycle 2002

LBC 1152am will be broadcasting a two hour programme live from the show on Friday afternoon, the first public day.

LBC 1152am, the Voice of London, is London’s news, views, information and entertainment station, with an audience of approximately 400 000 listeners.

The station will be running trailers for it’s live show – the Ana Boulter slot – and there will be bike-themed listener competitions in the week leading up to exhibition.

Nicholas Wheeler, chief editor, ITN Radio, which produces LBC 1152am, said:

"With more people than ever taking advantage of cheap, clean, environment friendly pedal power we are delighted to be associated with a show of this calibre and excitement. It is fitting that LBC, The Voice of London, which broadcasts extensive travel news throughout the day, should be there."

And BBC2’s ‘Working Lunch’ business programme is planning to film a feature on the show which investigates the trials and tribulations experienced by Alex Sperling and Matt Bower, the inventors of the Ecolatch locking device, introduced on this site last week, as they move from drawing board to the marketplace. While at the show ‘Working Lunch’ will also film some of the other exhibitors.

BBC News 24 features producer John Greenwood is also seeking news for broadcast during the weekend of the show.

The Evening Standard is producing a 16-page supplement for the show to be distributed in the Standard at the end of next week.

Last, and probably least!, there will be a special show edition of BicycleBusiness. This ships on 18th September. It goes to press on Thursday this week so if any Cycle 2002 exhibitors have any trade news they’d like to impart they’d better get their skates on!

This edition of the mag will also feature a preview of the Cycle and Leisure roadshow.
