Both brands are Accell owned

Raleigh takes on XLC distribution duties

From today (Monday January 14th), retailers in the UK will be able to purchase XLC products through Raleigh.

The deal comes following Raleigh’s acquisition last year by Accell Group, also owner of XLC. XLC was previously distributed by Greyville for two years.

According to a statement, representatives from Greyville and Accell agreed an amicable end to the previous distribution agreement, which allows Greyville to continue selling XLC during the transition of stock to Raleigh, ensuring continuity of supply to its customers.

Greyville MD Alan Pritchard said: “XLC has been a great brand to work with and negotiations with the Accell Group were friendly and the result satisfactory. They have behaved in a very correct manner, which cannot always be said nowadays.”

The acquisition of XLC is seen as a huge opportunity for Raleigh, which said the new component line – including MTB and road shoes – complements its existing Raleigh and RSP components ranges.

Raleigh operations director Jane Tomkinson commented: “XLC is a very well known and highly respected bicycle component brand so we are thrilled to be distributing it in the UK. Our partnership with the Accell group has already brought us significant opportunities for growth and expansion but this latest announcement gives us the chance to work with more independent bike dealers and deliver a better quality of customer service to our increasingly expanding and discerning customer base.”

Raleigh customers can place orders for XLC items from today, with products available for dispatch from the end of January.
