Formerly distributed by a number of suppliers - including Fisher Outdoor Leisure, Hartley Dawson, and Madison - the tyre-and-tube repair brand will be available sole-supplier from February onwards.

Rema Tip Top becomes Madison’s alone

Rema Tip Top is a brand owned by 75-year old Stahlgruber Otto Gruber GmbH & Co. of Munich. The company has factories in Poing and Furstenzell in Germany.

The Tip Top brand was created in 1938.

Rema Tip Top products have been available in the UK bike trade for 20+ years. The brand has traditionally been distributed by a number of suppliers and wholesalers.

However, MC Blakey, director of marketing at Rema Tip Top said that because sales have "diminished to levels that are inconsistent with the brand quality and the market penetration enjoyed by our products in other key European Countries," the company has decided to hand sole distribution to Madison.

This will "give the Tip Top brand the exposure it requires," said Blakey.

"We are convinced that this alliance will provide the necessary marketing and logistical resources to support a focused brand strategy that will in turn give the necessary profile to the full range of products we manufacture and market."
