British Eurosport plans to increase its cycling output for the coming season. In total there will be 150 days featuring cycling this year, an increase of 30 days over 1999. British Eurosport will again bring live coverage of the three Grand Tours of France, Italy and Spain.
In addition, there will be live coverage of all ten stages of the
World Cup plus the classic races not badged as World Cup will also get extensive coverage.
For the first time, British Eurosport will be showing the biggest moments from the forthcoming Spanish season, including action from the Setmana Catalana, Vuelta Al Pais Vasca, Vuelta a Aragon, Vuelta a Burgos and the Vuelta a Galicia.
This is great news for our ever increasing audience of non expert viewers, who have become more and more interested in cycle racing, says David Duffield, British Eurosports commentator, People can appreciate from their TVs, not just the sheer spectacle of bike racing but also the terrain where these races take place and admire the physical achievements of the riders.
The first live race of the season is the ParisNice, which begins on Sunday March 5. Sean Kelly will join David Duffield in the commentary box. British Eurosport will cover the action live right through the week until the finish on Sunday 13th.
