Family takes legal action after fatal incident involving a child

£300,000 lawsuit filed against bike shop following death

According to an article on The Daily Mail, Marlborough bike shop Acceler8 is being sued after it serviced the brakes of a bike hours before a fatal accident.

The incident occurred two years ago, where a 14 year old died after his bicycle rode in front of a van – the coroner found that there was a ‘catastrophic failure’ of the front brake. Now the family is bringing a £300,000 lawsuit against the shop.

According to a local news site, the shop is closing this summer, though the tragic events are not cited as reasons behind the closure (Marlborough News Online).
