So far in the FMD crisis its been OK to cycle in the Lake District so long as you stick to the tarmac. But now some key recreational roads are being roped off

Access restricted in the Lake District

The website of the Lake District National Park says:

"The Lake District still welcomes visitors but walking, cycling and riding is strictly limited to tarmac roads to help prevent spreading the infection."

But now even some tarmace roads are no-go areas.

Police have closed the roads between the Duddon, Langdale and Eskdale valleys. The Hardknott and Wrynose hill climbs have also been closed.
