Cliff Clavin - aka actor John Ratzenberger - the dour mailman from Boston-based 'Cheers!', has just finished filming a non-fiction segment about Cannondale for a new Travel Channel TV series, 'Made in America'. Cannondale was chosen for its "strong brand recognition and reputation for quality."

America’s most famous mailman visits Cannondale

The resulting 10-12 minute Cannondale segment will air early next year when the series debuts in the US. Cable viewers in the UK may get to see the series soon after.

According to Kathleen Cromley, an executive producer at the Travel Channel, Cannondale was selected for the series because of the company’s strong brand recognition and reputation for quality.

"’Made In America’ is a celebration of the best products produced in the US," said Cromley.

"People sometimes forget that many of the finest products in the world are produced in America, and the series will serve as a wonderful reminder that innovative design and state-of-the-art craftsmanship are still very much alive in the US."

Other companies that will be profiled on the series include Harley-Davidson, and piano maker Steinway & Sons.

Ratzenberger and the TV crew filmed interviews with Troy Clark of the company’s engineering department, Mark La Plante, who heads Cannondale’s in-house testing facility, and communications director Tom Armstrong.

Chris Ressler of Altoona, Pennsylvania was also featured. Ressler is the owner of eight Cannondales and has the company’s "C" logo tattooed on his calf, branded you might say.
