Armed robbers hold up staff at Leeds bike shop

Police in Leeds are appealing for information following an armed robbery at The Bike Shop in Crossgates, Leeds. The store was robbed during the late afternoon on Monday. Cash from the till and a £9,000 Rolex watch were taken.

Three masked men entered the store at 4.35pm and demanded personal property. The men also threatened staff in the workshop area, say police. The robbers fled the scene in a car.

Leeds CID Detective Constable Nathalie Tasker said: “This was an incredibly distressing incident for the victims.

“I would like to appeal to the public for witnesses or any information to come forward to the police to assist with our enquiries. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Leeds CID via 101 quoting crime reference 13170578361.”

The Bike Shop has been trading since 2004 and is owned by Janine and Richard Crawford. Mrs Crawford said: "I had a watch and my wedding ring stolen. The items have great sentimental value and I am prepared to offer a cash reward for information leading to their recovery."
