Best way to appreciate London’s architecture? By bike, of course

Bicycles are London festival’s ride of choice

London’s Festival of Architecture is set to heavily use bicycles to show the public the jewels of the capital over the coming weeks.

The Festival, running from June 19th to July 4th, will see Sky-sponsored tours as part of Skyride 2010, providing chance to explore the nooks and crannies of London.

There will be over 20 organised LFA Skyrides guided by the country’s leading architects and cultural commentators.

Highlights include a gastronomically-themed tour ‘the Best of France in London’, incorporating food, drink and architecture led by cultural critic Stephen Bayley. Designer Wayne Hemingway will lead an exploration of remodelled housing estates, while Benedict O’Looney will lead a sketching tour of 17th Century buildings. Architectural historian and football fan Simon Inglis will lead a tour of London sporting venues.
