Bike Hub is the UK bicycle industry's levy scheme. It pays for the super-successful Bike It schools programme delivered by Sustrans.
Two months ago a call was put out for other projects to support and the £100,000 New Ideas Fund was born.
The deadline for applications was 31st June. 24 were received, including applications from Cyclenation (formerly known as the Cycle Campaign Newwork); Sustrans; Cycling Scotland; and a number of secondary schools and colleges.
"The calibre of applications has been first class," said Bike Hub committee chair, Phillip Darnton.
"It was very tough for us to come up with a shortlist. I shall be writing to all the applicants soon, stressing that we'd be happy to offer all of them letters of support for taking their projects forward to other funding partners.
"We only have £100,000 to offer and much as we'd like to back all of the projects we've seen, we have to pick the best of the best."
Committee members will now decide which of the shortlisted applications will be chosen as the winner(s). A final decision will be made by mid-July.
News of the successful bids will be released via Bike Hub's twitter feed.
