Bikerumor.com has hired Saris Mercanti as a full-time tech editor. By the end of July the blog founded by Tyler Benedict had exceeded four million monthly pageviews.

The site now has three full time contributors, with the other two being Benedict and Zach Overholt, who transitioned from freelance to full time in January 2013.

Benedict said: "Saris is a clever writer that really knows mountain bike technology and culture. She brings a fresh voice to the site, but she also makes Bikerumor one of very few cycling media outlets with a female tech writer."

Other contributors to the blog include Andrew Stackhouse, who ran Pirate Race Productions; John Herron, a former product reviewer for Dirt Rag Magazine; and Cory Benson.

They join industry columnists Stacy Sims, OSMO co-founder, and Hunter Allen and company at Peaks Coaching, who provide monthly nutrition and training articles.

"I'm proud that such talented writers want to contribute," said Benedict. "And that I'm able to provide a platform for them a broader spectrum of products, technologies and ideas."

He added: "Site traffic is up considerably from last year, topping 4MM monthly pageviews for the first time ever."
