Bikedirect Europe is part of Easthill Enterprises Ltd, the directors of which are New Zealander Frank Clavis and his wife.

Clavis initially wanted to import high-end Corratec’s from Germany but owing to "the uncertainties of the market" decided instead to concentrate on contract framebuilding.

"This has proven to be the right decision as Bikedirect Europe is now moving into a larger new factory to support the volume of business and services," said Clavis.

Bikedirect Europe produces mid to high-end frames for customers and also produces own-brand frames. The company can also offer a robotic wheelbuilding service. It has the capacity to assemble in excess of 100 000 a year and employs 25 people with a further 10 appointments planned.
