The citizens of Bristol will be treated to bicycle bonanza this summer, courtesy of the Greater Bristol Cycling City project.
Next month the city will see Cyclescreen – Bristol’s first dedicated bike film festival – run from Thursday August 5th to Sunday August 8th, featuring inspiring cycling features, documentaries, lectures and interactive events.
Highlights include a pedal powered cinema, projecting bike shorts from around the globe and indoor bike racing in the café bar.
A month later the city will see the Bristol Cycle Festival and Carnival, running from Saturday September 11th to Sunday September 26th. The fortnight will see community-led event and activities, including an eclectic mix that features a cycle fashion show, St Nic’s nocturne and the first cycle carnival in the UK, according to the organiser.
Kambe Events has organised the festival and has offered 30 grants to those wanting to run cycling events in the city.
Both events are being funded by the Cycling City project.
