Manufacturer Brodie Bikes has announced details of its 2009 range, and is looking for dealers nationwide to take stock.

Brodie has reworked and simplified the Marathon line-up, with the release of a new model – the Ethos. New frames take advantage of a geometrically strengthened tubeset, building a lightweight, long-legged epic XC platform.

Brodie has considerably reworked the rear suspension considerably: moving rear pivot locations to maximise lateral stiffness, without compromising the suspension performance. The move allowed Brodie to build lighter chain and seat stay assemblies, as they aren’t being taxed quite as much torsionally. The suspension rates have been firmed up for a more responsive ride deep in its travel and chain growth has been reduced by 10 per cent over last year’s bikes.

2009 sees a new product line – the Heritage. Comprising new Chromo steel framed bikes, including the Romax, Catalyst and Elan, the Heritage line are ‘classic’ Brodie – Tange Infinity and Tange Prestige. A ‘virtually unchanged’ (in terms of spec) Ronin also returns.

The Rat range provides DJ value, with the Cretin the 'stylish favourite' with new Alienation Pivotal saddle and 440 rims.

The Descension series has been revised and simplified with an entirely new frame, designed from the ground up to give riders a stronger and lighter frame, more lateral stiffness, increased stand over clearance and slacker angles for stability. The new frame will be found in three models: Recluse, the value packed freeride bike. Pariah, the full Shimano SLX specced all mountain machine and the Zealot, the top of the line XT/SLX beast.
