Cabal plan to produce a 164-page magazine for this years event, produced in association with the Societe du Tour de France and Channel Four. Previous Guides have been produced by McQuaid International.
"This is a major coup for Cabal and for procycling’s editorial team," said Official Guide editor Jeremy Whittle, editor also of Procycling.
"Procycling is barely a year old, but winning this contract proves the international impact our dynamic approach has made with the biggest race promoter in the world."
The Official Tour Guide will be available on UK and Irish newsstands (and globally by order through Procyclings website, www.procycling.com, now linked to Yahoo).
The Channel Four TV programme on the Tour gives the official magazine massive plugs at the end of each show.
Its the ideal showcase for all things cycling and for those with connections to French sport and culture, said Whittle, who is also Tour de France correspondent to The Times.
The Guide will reflect both the global significance of the event and the unique role that Channel Four plays in bringing the spectacle of the Tour to an English-speaking audience.
Procyclings Official Guide will have features and contributions from celebrities such as Sir Paul McCartney, clothes designer Paul Smith, novelist Freya North, Eurotrash presenter Antoine de Caunes and comedian Alexei Sayle, all big fans of the worlds toughest endurance event.
