Can you donate product promises for Singletrack charity auction?

This Friday evening, Singletrack Magazine is hosting its first 'Singletrack Awards' at a Lancashire hotel. After the posh pie-and-peas supper and gong handouts there will be a charity auction in aid of Cancer Research. This will be broadcast live on singletrackworld.com. A specially-commissioned Mint Sauce painting by Jo Burt has already had advance bids of £700. Bike trade suppliers wishing to donate products for the auction need not ship kit today, they can offer 'promises' instead. Bikebiz.co.uk is donating a half page ad in the mag, or a full page in the 2003 BikeBizBible. Bid, get a bargain and feel the hot flush of philanthropic joy...

"We're after some other goodies to auction," said Singletrack's Chipps Chippendale.

"As well as the 70 or so people at the awards from the bike industry and our readership, there will be hundreds tuning in over the internet to view and bid live. And all proceeds will be going to Cancer Research."

Singletrack is especially after products - or services - that are unique, special or expensive.

"A signed jersey, a special edition component, even some rare bike industry swag would be great, or the offer of a service, a ride or a visit, a loan of a special bike - we're happy to auction it all for charity on your behalf," said Chippendale.
