Velofix to expand away from North American heartland.

Canadian mobile mechanics’ franchise to become available in the UK

The Velofix franchise offer will soon be available in the UK and Australia. Velofix is a mobile mechanics’ franchise headquartered in Vancouver. It has 19 franchises in Canada and has also expanded into America with franchises in Santa Monica, Pasadena, Kona, Portland, San Diego, Boulder, Seattle, Cincinnati and Dallas. Velofix predicts there will be 55 franchises operating in North American cities within a year.

Velofix was started in 2012 by Davide Xausa, Boris Martin and Chris Guillemet.

Guillemet, CEO of the Canadian company, said: “Consumer demand is overwhelming – we are looking for motivated and qualified people who want to be their own boss and make a great living doing something they love.”

He added that Velofix “takes away all the stresses in a mechanic’s life by offering state of the art systems for booking, billing, routing and inventory management.”

A Velofix franchise owner is required to purchase a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van outfitted with Park Tools. This van is also equipped with a point-of-sale system, an espresso machine, a television and wifi.

Bookings are taken through Velonet, a proprietary ordering and payment system. Franchise owners also gain access to the Velofix trade account so can purchase components and supplies at trade prices, something not always available to mobile mechanics.
