Purpose-built trails at Davagh Forest to be followed by two further National trail centres in Rostrevor and Castlewellan County Down later this month

Chain Reaction opens Northern Ireland’s first national trail centre

Online retail giant Chain Reaction Cycles has officially opened Northern Ireland’s first national trail centre.

The network of purpose-built trails at Davagh Forest, Co Tyrone includes over ten km of family-friendly green and blue grade mountain biking trails as well as three km of riverside and woodland walking trail and sixteen km of red grade mountain biking trail, suited to more experienced riders.

The new facility boasts the first long distance mountain bike trails in Northern Ireland and will be a flagship trail centre on the newly launched consumer website, www.MountainBikeNI.com, says Chain Reaction.

Chris Scott from MountainBikeNI.com commented: “We are delighted to be working alongside Cookstown District Council and official trail sponsors Chain Reaction Cycles to pro-actively promote the Davagh Forest Trails to an eagerly awaiting target market of mountain bike enthusiasts.”

“Together with new trails centres in Rostrevor and Castlewellan, the Davagh Forest Trails are a key location in making Northern Ireland the next must visit mountain biking destination in the UK and Ireland."

CRC marketing manager Damien Duggan added: “We have been supporting the development of mountain biking in Northern Ireland for the last two decades be it through stocking specialist brands, supporting local riders and organising high profile events. Understandably, we were therefore delighted to be a part of this exciting development alongside MountainBikeNI.com.”
