Control Tech's Newton kit is force to be reckoned with

OEM speccers were drooling over Control Tech's aluminium, scandium and carbon-fibre bits and pieces, launched at the Taipei trade show at the weekend. The high-end US-based stem and BMX components company is now owned by Wei Hau of Taiwan. Design is still US-based

"Control Tech has some of the most technically advanced products ever seen by the bicycle market," said a bullish statement from Control Tech.

Many Control Tech parts are still made in the US - including all the CNCed bits - but the company's booth at the Taipei show unveiled the first Taiwanese-made Control Tech P&A.

The Newton 3 road and MTB CNC-machined stems are available in both Scandium and 7075 T6 alloy.

"For those riders who seek the ultimate in precision engineering, combined with unrivalled durability," Control Tech recommends the Newton 5 and Newton 8 stems. They "ooze quality."

The Max 1 and Max 2 BMX stems are "works of art," said Control Tech.

However, it's the new carbon-fibre range that was turning most heads in Taipei. The Comp-RH racing bar offers internal cable routing and high strength, due to what Control Tech says is "advanced moulding techniques."

The new carbon fibre road range also includes cranks, wheels, bottle cages and seatposts.

The Control Tech website will be loaded with info and pix of the new kit on April 15th.
