This is a Clover-sponsored campaign aiming to churn out kids with better bike skills. All the skills sessions will be held in Tesco car-parks.

CTC butters up kids with Bike Smart

How on earth CTC teamed up with Clover, the dairy spread, is anybody’s guess (we’ll be asking for sure) but let’s not look a gift cow in the mouth…

Clover Bike Smart is a nationwide campaign, open to children aged 7-10, and will be held in car parks of selected Tesco stores across the country from 12th to 29th August. The skills sessions are free.

CTC is providing qualified instructors who have designed the sessions to be fun as well as informative.

As well as skill tests, there will be trials demonstrations from Diamondback’s Ian Drummond, and try-out sessions for other family members.

Running from 10am to 4pm at each store, kids can bring their own bikes or borrow the bikes made available on the day.

Kevin Mayne, CTC director, said: “CTC is delighted to be working with Clover on Bike Smart. We believe training is one of the best ways to get people of all ages cycling with confidence and safety..”

Kids need to call the Clover Bike Smart hotline on 020 70092818 or fill in the registration form at a participating Tesco store – or just turn up on the day and join in.
