Group aims to prove scheme's importance by canvassing participants

Cycle to Work Alliance to survey users

The Cycle to Work Alliance – consisting of the largest Cycle to Work providers – is surveying users of the scheme to discover who, what and why of its participants.

The Alliance hopes to find out more about participant’s commuting and cycling habits, and also to demonstrate the popularity of the scheme and the important role it plays in keeping employees fit, reducing carbon emissions and reducing road congestion.

“The cycle to work scheme plays an essential role in the Government’s strategy for sustainable transport, health and their commitment to reduce CO2 emissions," explained Evans Cycles retail director Mark Smith. "This survey will produce a robust evidence base to demonstrate the benefits of cycling to work.”

The surveys will be distributed via the cycle to work scheme providers.

The Cycle to Work Alliance is made up of Cyclescheme, Evans Cycles, Halfords and Cycle Solutions.
