Female-dedicated sports clubs of any kind invited to compete in Cycletta Club Challenge

Cycletta invites sports clubs to join cycling revolution

Women only sportive series Cycletta has launched a ‘Club Challenge’, which opens the cycling experience up to other sports clubs, from netball teams to female rugby clubs and more.

The Sky and British Cycling supported rides are to take on a competitive edge with the creation of an inaugural Cycletta Club Challenge. Two events are scheduled for 2011; Cycletta North, at Tatton Park, Cheshire on 26th June and Cycletta South, at Whipsnade Zoo, Bedfordshire, on the 11th September.

Victoria Pendleton will ride alongside the masses at each, tackling the 40km course. Pendleton said: “Cycletta is about getting women cycling. Our Cycletta Club Challenge will bring together women from all sports to cycle together. We will have a lot of fun. We will have champions from various sports taking part as well as many passionate sports women and I look forward to cycling at the Cycletta events with many inspiring women.”

The Club Challenge is for five or more entries from any sporting club with the average time of those from the same club providing the Club’s time in the Challenge.

Miranda Hart, Fern Britton, Clare Balding, James Duigan and Layla Anna Lee have all joined the Cycletta cause to promote and motivate women’s cycling.
