News site and live GPS race tracking combine to create do-it-all free app in time for 100th Tour de France.

Cyclingnews and Tour Tracker partner for new app

News site CyclingNews.com and GPS race following site Tour Tracker have combined forces to launch a new, free app. CyclingNews Tour Tracker will start with news and GPS coverage of the Tour de France. The app is available for iPhone, iPad and Android.

The 100th Tour de France starts in Corsica on Saturday.

CyclingNews Tour Tracker will offer daily live coverage includes commentary from Cyclingnews reporters, GPS tracking with details of every break-away and time-gap, and a social media feed that will combine links to videos, photos and tweets.

There will also be stage previews and profiles, including videos narrated by previous Tour stage winner Magnus Backstedt

A statement from Future, owner of Cyclingnews.com, said: "This is the beginning of a long-term strategic partnership between Future and Tour Tracker that will see the launch of a variety of products over the next few years.

Mark Cantwell, Future Sport’s Digital Product Development Manager, said: “We wanted to design a product that is a natural brand extension for Cyclingnews.com, puts the user experience at its heart and gives them all the Grand Tour information they could possibly need in the palm of their hand. Working with Tour Tracker has been amazing, they are as fanatical about cycling as us with the same aims and goals.”
