Deloitte Ride Across Britain, which will run from Land’s End to John O’Groats, will announce a series of new packages for 2017 today – places go on sale here.
Designed to suit personal commitments, preferences, and cycling experience, these packages offer different accommodation types and distance options.
Deloitte Ride Across Britain Ultra runs the entire 969-mile-long route in just five days. It is the first-ever ride of its kind designed especially for experienced cyclists, and this year will be limited to 50 places. Riders will average 193 miles a day as they pedal the length of the UK. The package includes four nights in a hotel with breakfast, afternoon tea, and dinner.
The Classic package is the most popular option for riders who wish to cover the route in nine days, camping at a fully-prepared basecamp in a private tent, with food and hot showers. The Plus option, also new this year, is intended for those who would prefer to stay overnight in hotels.
For those looking for a shorter challenge, there’s the option to ride five days through England or four days through Scotland. Riders who choose these packages can elect to return the following year to complete their journey at a discounted rate.
The 2017 ride will take place from September 9th-17th. All of the packages are fully supported by a signposted route, accommodation, hot food, regular pit stops, mechanical and medical support, and, while the Ultra route is specific to serious cyclists, Classic, Plus, England and Scotland are suitable for cyclists of any age and ability.
Deloitte Ride Across Britain is one of the UK’s highest fundraising per head cycling challenge, which saw £1.4 million raised in 2015 alone. The event has raised a total of £4 million for Deloitte’s charity partner, the British Paralympic Association, £1.7million of which was raised by Deloitte’s employees.
