Endura to address Scottish Mountain Biking Conference

The Scottish Mountain Biking Conference has confirmed that local brand Endura will be taking part in its 2016 event.

As part of the three-day meeting, Endura brand and product director Pamela Barclay will present a speech on the subject of participation and sport development, two notions which will feature across many of the talks given over the duration of the conference.

The brand is an established name in cycle clothing and has worked with a host of established athletes including the Movistar team, the World Tour road race team, and fellow Scottish cycling ambassador and trials rider Danny MacAskill.

Endura recently announced an investment of £600,000 in the new Endura Lifecycle Barn project, which is aimed at offering disadvantaged children in the region a hands-on cycling experience. The Lifecycle Barn will be located near Drymen, north of Glasgow and west of Sterling.

Talking about the project, Barclay commented: “Our ambition is for the Endura Lifecycle Barn to be a hub which will allow underprivileged kids to engage with cycling and all its positive aspects. It should, we hope, allow kids from difficult backgrounds to experience the freedom and exhilaration of cycling in some of the most beautiful countryside in Scotland, help develop their bike skills, and encourage them to be active.

“We also plan to run bike mechanic workshops at the centre to help develop young people’s sense of logic and mechanical understanding in a world where children are too often surrounded solely by computer technology that is impenetrable to them.”
