Publisher unveils new line-up of consumer biking events for 2009

Future rolls out Bike Demo Days

Future Publishing has revealed that it is to repeat last year’s successful demo day series with a new series of biking events this year.

Seven UK venues will host the 2009 National Mountain Bike Series running from January to April. The events will give bike fans the opportunity to test the latest mountain bikes while bringing together leading cycling brands.

The free events will be open to the general public and will be held at UK trails, including Cannock Chase in the West Midlands, Afan in South Wales and Glentress in Scotland.

Readers of What Mountain Bike and BikeRadar will also get the chance to meet the teams while trying out the latest bikes and biking tech.

“The Series gives manufacturers and distributors the opportunity to demo their brands without the hassle of having to worry about, insurance, security, medical support, booking venues etc,” explained James Poole, commercial director for Future’s cycling portfolio. “We take care of the lot. Plus as the Series is promoted via MBUK, What Mountain Bike, Cyclingnews and BikeRadar, the one we can guarantee is a busy weekend of quality prospective customers.”

The confirmed venues and dates for the demos include:

January 25th – Queen Elizabeth Park, Hampshire
February 8th – Ashton Hill, Buckinghamshire
February 22nd – Cannock Chase, West Midlands
March 8th – Afan, South Wales
March 22nd – Dalby Forest, Yorkshire
April 5th – Glentress, Scotland
April 19th – Grizedale, Cumbria
