Gongs galore for Dorel’s distributors

Dorel Sports of Canada, owner of GT, Schwinn, Cannondale and more – handed out awards to a number of its global distributors at the group’s International Sales Show in Taichung, Taiwan. Fifteen out of Dorel’s 123 distribution partner companies were gonged.

The winners were:

  • Distributor of the Year: Omnico PTY Ltd (South Africa),
  • Cannondale Distributor of the Year: Aspire Sports S.R.O. (Czech Republic/Poland/Slovakia)
  • Cannondale Continued Excellence: Flying Bikes Shop (Cambodia), Xcesso S.A. (Costa Rica), Omnico PTY Ltd (South Africa), WH Worral and Co Ltd (New Zealand)
  • Cannondale Best in Marketing: Worldwide Connection (Thailand), Bicicletas Mercurio (Mexico)
  • GT Distributor of the Year: Chacomer S.A.E. (Paraguay)
  • GT Continued Excellence: TI Cycles of India (India), Beach Mountain (Norway), Velo Factory (Tahiti), Performance Sport (Russia)
  • GT Best in Marketing: Monza Imports (Australia), PG Bikes S.A. (Argentina)

Dorel’s SVP of international sales Jeff Weiss said:

“Our international distributors are critical partners for Dorel Sports, helping us to increase our reach and the availability of our brands to cyclists all over the world. It’s great to be able to recognize hard work through the course of the year.”

Winners were selected based on a number of critical key performance indicators including year-on-year growth, 
breadth of bike models carried, and the increase in dealer sign-ups.

Dorel also recognised a number of companies for their long-term commitment to the business. These included:

  • Scan Bike (Denmark) – GT Distributor for 30 years
  • Performance Sport (Russia) – GT Distributor for 20 years
  • Cobicondor (Costa Rica) – GT Distributor for 20 years
  • Cannasia (Singapore) – Cannondale Distributor for 20 years
  • Bike Sport (Ukraine) – Cannondale Distributor 10 years
