Sounds good doesnt it? Perhaps this is how we should refer to cycle mechanics from now on. Talk up their status (and, er, pay them more too?) and youll be able to charge more for their skills.
The phrase cycle technician is used on a current job ad for Oasis, the holiday village complex in Cumbria, similar to Center Parcs. Neat.
