Halo has announced that it is to be the title sponsor of the 2011 and 2012 British Downhill Series - to be known as the Halo BDS.
With Dave Franciosy and Si Paton organizing the Halo BDS it has become the premier downhill series in the UK (and the best attended in the whole of Europe) attracting some of the biggest name riders in the sport, including Steve Peat, Gee Atherton, Brendan Fairclough and overall 2010 Elite winner Marc Beaumont.
Ison Distribution's marketing manager Matt Andrews said: "This year’s series has proved to be a great success and we are proud to be an integral part of such a professional downhill series."
2011 will see five Halo BDS rounds (Scotland, England and Wales) and the bonus of the National Championships, plus the end of year party, held in Aberystwyth.
The dates for each round are as follows:
1: March 20th
2: April 10th
3: May 29th
4: June 26th
5: Sept 11th
National Champs: July 24th
All five rounds will carry UCI and BC points and racers will need a British Cycling race licence to enter.
