Hoffman BMX bike dips below £200 for first time

The Rhythm EL1 now retails for five pence short of the magic £200 pricepoint. "This introduces the availability of a Hoffman BMX bike to a much wider audience," said UK importer Seventies.

Seventies says the bikes have been improved:

"36 : 13 gearing using an Odyssey freewheel for lighter weight and more compact design. The Condor range, Matt Hoffman's own signature bike has been similarly developed and refined to reduce weight and improve performance. For all the new 2005 models, the latest colours, including the latest additions of poo and punky green, are much brighter."

And dealer margins have been increased.

"One of the unique advantages of working with Seventies is that subsequent purchases, even for only one bike, can be bought at the same level of discount as the original stock order. With the generous settlement discount that Seventies offer, margins for dealers on the new Hoffman range can be up to 38%, with an order for only ten bikes."

The 2005 range will also be supported by 60 000 catalogues, an "extensive" mag ad campaign and "an updated website," said a statement from Seventies.
