Honey Stinger has announced its sponsorship of Team Radioshack, effective immediately.
The Lance Armstrong-created race squad has teamed up with the Colorado natural energy foods manufacturer for the 2011 season. Armstrong has a stake in the Honey Stinger.
It was also announced last week that UK distribution outfit, Chocolate would carry the natural energy products in the UK.
“Our riders require two things from their energy food. It needs to transfer energy efficiently and be easily digestible,” states Johan Bruyneel, sports director of Team RadioShack, “Honey Stinger accomplishes both, and as an added bonus, it tastes great – the riders love it.”
“Team RadioShack is the international gold standard in the pro peloton,” states Len Zanni, Honey Stinger’s marketing director, “We’re excited to fuel for the team as they prepare for what’s sure to be another stellar international race season.”
Meanwhile, the nutrition firm has also renewed its contract with the Trek-Livestrong U23 team.
