One of the mountain bike patrollers buzzing the desert MTB course said he’d run out of medical supplies on the first day of the Outdoor Demo, and that the second day was already more bloody than the first.
It must have been the excitement of being able to ride so many top-end bikes (the Santa Cruz VP-Free was probably the most sought after ride of the two days) in such a short space of time. Stand by one of the bombholes, wait a few minutes and then see an IBD staffer crash and burn.
BikeBiz.com saw lots of gravel burns and a live popping of a clavicle. The heli-ambulance and local paramedics were kept very busy.

Lots of injuries were evident on the first day of the trade show in Las Vegas, including the popped knee of journalist Guy Kesteven. He pranged on his last run on Saturday and, as can be seen from the pic below, is scooting around Interbike in a wheelchair.
