Munich-set global cycling show takes place later this month

ISPO Bike 2013: New exhibitors, highlights and cycle innovations

Around 200 exhibitors will be appearing at Messe München-set Bike ISPO later this month, including the likes of Cannondale, POC, Shimano, SR Suntour and at least 196 others.

ISPO Bike runs from Thursday July 25th to 28th; the first two days are for the trade, then opening up to the public over the weekend.

As you’d expect from a show of its size, ISPO Bike has plenty of events, launches and seminars for visitors. The full event programme including a special bike wear fashion exhibit area (hall B6). In the same hall there’s a focus on bike tourism (a sector boosted by e-bikes, the show says), as well as a special cargo bike section.

New exhibitors for 2013 include Brompton, A2B, Moustache and Montague. There will be a keen focus on e-bikes again too, as ISPO Bike exhibition director David Badalec explained: “We provide an informational as well as practical side event program in order to further emphasise the multi-faceted character of the subject and the position of ISPO BIKE as the platform for E-Mobility and Urban Biking.”

Pedelecs and e-bikes race each other in the ‘Pedals of Power’ race on Saturday while the ISPO Innovation Forum, held for the seventh time, sees keyplayers from industry and retail together with government, media, science and associations discussing the future of cycling. On a similar theme, ISPO will host the fourth Bike Development Conference.

There’s a free app for iOS and Android devices to help visitors make their way around the halls. You can order your ticket from here – free of charge for the trade.

Last year’s event drew 6,000 trade visitors and more than 10,000 consumers.
