Aston Martin has produced the One-77 Cycle, limited to (you guessed it) 77 pieces.
Aston Martin’s bike – touted by the brand as ‘the most technically advanced road bicycle’ – has been designed, engineered and built in Britain, using tech derived from racing car developments.
Admittedly we’re a bit late with this one – Aston Martin launched the bike in the summer – but as this month sees the release of the 23rd James Bond film ‘Skyfall’ and this month also marks the 50th anniversary of the first ever Bond film, we thought there’s no time like the present.
There are seven versions of the bike, the last of which – 007 Copper Fire – is called ‘the boldest combination’ with gold anodising and gold metallic graphics and black trimmed seats and handlebars.
Now pay attention: The high modulus carbon fibre frame is specced with Shimano Dura-Ace, Fizik Antares saddle and Continental GP4000 Tubular tyres. High intensity front LED lights are integrated into the handlebars, red rear LEDs are integrated in the seat tube and they’re operated via switches on the control level housings.
The One-77 Cycle was, Aston Martin says, conceived as a training aid for the serious athlete, with a fully integrated, multi-channel ergonometric data recording system that provides an in-depth record of athletic performance.
It said: "The One-77 Cycle is a fitting partner for the Aston Martin One-77, the most elegant, sophisticated and powerful road car the company has ever built. Both machines have much in common; a clean sheet design, developed from the ground up to showcase the most extraordinary potential of modern design, craft and engineering."
