Sportswear retailer JD Sports Fashion has purchased Go Outdoors for £112.3 million.
The 58-store Go Outdoors was founded in 1998 by Paul Caplan and John Graham and is headquatered in Sheffield. It made a pretax profit of £4.9 million on revenue of £202 million pounds in 2015-16. Caplan and Graham will not be staying with the business.
JD Sports already owns Blacks, Millets, Ultimate Outdoors and Tiso, with a combined revenue of over £155 million, and 182 stores, reports Reuters.
The JD Sports group had revenue of £1.82 billion in 2015, with gross profit of 48.5 percent, which is high for a retailer.
