JLT confirms Elite Women’s Criterium sponsorship

JLT has confirmed that it will be renewing its sponsorship of the Elite Women’s Criterium race at the Rapha Nocturne London cycling event, taking place in the City of London on Saturday, June 10th.

The Rapha Nocturne Series brings together professional and amateur cycling teams from across the UK in an evening of racing that takes place through the streets of London.

The Series has also been a pioneer in promoting women’s cycling, with the JLT Elite Women’s Criterium receiving equal billing and prize money alongside the Elite Men’s race.

Chief operating officer for JLT Specialty Nick Williams-Walker said: “Criterium racing is a specialist discipline requiring considerable technical expertise and as specialist insurance brokers we saw this as the perfect partnership.

‘The Rapha Nocturne Series is fast becoming one of the most exciting events of the race calendar, offering great participation opportunities for everyone in addition to seeing some of the best riders in the world. We are proud to support the JLT Elite Women’s Criterium and delighted at the growth of women’s cycling, and that the Nocturne series has rightly given this equal billing and prize money.”

The JLT Elite Women’s Criterium will feature leading British teams including Team WNT, Team Ford-EcoBoost and Drops.cc as well as a team from Storey Racing, the new team of Dame Sarah Storey.

Storey added: “It is fantastic to see JLT announced as the sponsor of the Elite Women’s race at this year’s Rapha Nocturne London. This event has always had an important place on the women’s calendar and now receives equal prize money, live coverage and an equal footing alongside the men’s event.”
