Knog’s bike bell wins top Oz gong

The Oi bike bell from Knog of Australia has won the Victorian Design award for 2016. Knog beat out competition from nine other category winners including international architects and global advertising networks.

Celina Clarke, chair of the Premier’s Design Awards jury said: “The Oi Bike Bell exemplifies excellence in industrial design and brings together clever manufacturing, smart use of materials and a unique design aesthetic that sets it apart from other products in its class."

Victoria’s Minister of Creative Industries Martin Foley said: “These awards recognise Victorian designers and architects who go beyond the local to influence design thinking internationally."

Contenders for this year’s award included ANZ’s digital "virtual garden" that reacts to weather and displays Twitter feeds using a cutting-edge gaming technology platform.
