Here's the release:

Canton, MA March 1, 2005 - Kryptonite, a brand in Ingersoll-Rand's Security and Safety Americas Sector, received Cycling Plus' Gold Award for best security of 2004 with its New York Fahgettaboudit. Cycling Plus is

one of the United Kingdom's most prestigious bicycle publications. The New York 3000 was named 'best lock' by Good Housekeeping Institute after extensive testing. Powersports Business Magazine has given Kryptonite's

newly enhanced New York Chain its Editor's Choice Award for 2005.

"By recognizing Kryptonite's products as the best in the business with their independent testing these respected publications have confirmed what loyal Kryptonite customers have known for years," said Tim Clifford,

Director of Sales.

"Kryptonite continues to design and produce innovative, tough products that are easy for customers to use, while offering a variety of important benefits including anti-theft protection offers and free key replacements."

Good Housekeeping Institute recently conducted a bicycle lock test. Kryptonite's New York Lock was put through many tests and named the best in the group. Good Housekeeping says, "This standout was the hardest to open

(in the pry test) because it is made with strong, flexible steel."

Full results will be in the April, 2005 issue.

Cycling Plus' Christmas issue each year announces that year's top three products in each category. Kryptonite's New York Fahgettaboudit took the editor's top spot for locks and security because, "It's well made, well designed and backed up with an excellent guarantee, this is the lock our lock testers use." Kryptonite' Stronghold anchor received the Gold Award in 2003.

Ehlert Powersports Business Magazine gave Kryptonite's newly enhanced New York Chain its 2005 Editor's Choice Award during the annual powersports trade show in Indianapolis in February.

Bicycling's March, 2005, issue tested a handful of locks, including Kryptonite's New York Fahgettaboudit. After rigorous testing, editors concluded, "This chain-and-padlock pair ably resisted every breakage attempt we could muster." The New York Lock has also garnered the top spot in previous Bicycling lock tests.

In early September, Kryptonite announced that its 2005 Evolution and KryptoLok product lines would incorporate a disc-style cylinder similar to the one used in both the New York Lock and the New York Disc Lock, which

secures the New York Fahgettaboudit.
