French brand launching in the upmarket store in time for the 100th Tour de France

Le Coq Sportif launching Harrods installation for Le Tour

French heritage sports brand le coq sportif is partnering with Harrods for a reltail collaboration this summer.

From June 12th to July 7th, the cycling specific installation will be positioned in a 35sqm space of the sports department on the 5th floor of Harrods, celebrating the 100th edition of the Tour de France.

Naturally le coq sportif has a Tour de France-inspired lifestyle collection, following its first season in spring/summer 2012. The brand said that ‘La Grande Boucle’ has also largely been inspired by a clutch of ambassadors of experienced sportsmen and bike lovers.

Harrods will also stock le coq’s limited edition collection, with only 100 pieces available worldwide and exclusive to Harrods, including the ‘Maillot Noir’ or ‘Black Jersey’ in honour of the fact that this year’s Tour de France will finish at night. Other ranges are the sportstyle collection and the four 2013 leader jerseys, as well as their replica counterparts.

The retail installation will feature wall decorations and rail systems that will ‘visually take consumers through the exciting and arduous journey, scenery and race associated with Tour de France’, with diagrammatic route maps that journey through to the product lines.
