Dan Hornsby of Sakura Battery Ltd. reckons the 63 scooter bikes stolen at the weekend will be easy to spot: the thieves didn't half inch the battery packs. The company is putting up a £1000 reward for information that results in the conviction of the thieves or the return of the bikes

Leccy bike company offers reward for info on stolen bikes

"We have had 63 of our Sakura S200 scooter bikes stolen, from a container that was parked at a transport company in Ware," said Hornsby.

"However the thieves only stole the bikes, as we build our own battery packs and use a special charger.

"Although the bikes were taken from Hertfordshire they could be any where in the country, and the bikes are no good without a battery and a charger. At some point someone will ask a dealer for a battery and a charger for a Sakura bike, which could lead us to the stolen ones."
