Mavic has announced it's product for January 2009. The soft goods have just entered production stages following rigorous material testing. A line of shoes will be available for the first time following a series of prototype tests since February 2007.
The footwear features and 'energy frame', which is a TPU injected frame designed to limit upper stretch for increased foothold and optimal energy transfer. The design features a full carbon 3D heel counter for maximum heel hold and minimal weight. It precisely holds the heel above the calcaneous bone. Its ultra light full carbon construction lowers weight by over 50 per cent compared to injected heel counters.
Lightweight outsoles featuring high modulus carbon fiber and titanium maximize energy transfer thanks to its stiffness and its minimal thicknesses (down to 4 mm).
The clothing line features an ergonomically designed bib short with short inserts for maximum saddle comfort. The padding features six layers of cushioning which gives a progressive comfort as padding shapes around the rider.
Clima Ride technology features in many items. Materials will protect you with minimum bulk and extreme light weight. The fabric technologies allowed Mavic to engineer wind vests that weigh as little as 50gm, technical winter jackets that are 30 per cent lighter than traditional constructions, all with DWR water repellency.
Mavic now distribute direct to retail in the UK.
