Mike Hall set to smash Tour Divide record

Mike Hall is about to smash Josh Kato’s 2015 Tour Divide record, with just fifty miles left to ride to the finish line.

Since Hall’s last Tour Divide in 2013, it has been a case of “unfinished business”. That year, forest fires forced him to take a detour from the official route, so although he achieved record time, it did not stand as a Tour Divide Race win. In 2015 Kato took the official route and beat Hall for time, leading the latter to set a goal to take the record back in this edition of the race.

Hall, the Yorkshireman famous for his “normally aspirated” epic rides and races, is about to mark another milestone in his impressive CV of distance achievements. He is currently fewer than fifty miles away from completing his 2713-mile journey, and will be met at the finish line by the Pivot Cycles marketing team.

His progress can be followed live here – zoom in on the “MH” blue dot at the bottom of the route.
