MTB history doc – with a British spin – goes live on Vimeo.

‘Mountain Biking: The Untold British Story’ doc goes live on Vimeo

‘Mountain Biking: The Untold British Story’, a documentary about the under-appreciated contribution of Brits to MTB history, is now available to rent or buy on Vimeo

The film was part crowd-funded and part supported by the bike industry, with headline sponsorship from Orange, Islabikes and Hope Technology. Singletrack Magazine also played a leading role in getting the film made.

Produced by Bafta-winning filmmakers, Pip Piper and Michael Clifford the film features some of the stars of British mountain biking including Dan, Gee and Rachel Atherton, Martyn Ashton, Tracy Moseley, Steve Peat and a bushy-bearded Rob Warner. American MTB icon Gary Fisher also stars in the movie as does a member of the Rough-Stuff Fellowship. (Disclaimer: I also make an appearance or two, including as a fresh-faced racer-and-reporter at an early British MTB race.)

Pleasingly, the film majors on Geoff Apps, one of the great unsung heroes of British mountain biking. BikeBiz has long campaigned for Apps to receive greater recognition, especially from the US Mountain-Biking Hall of Fame. To date: nothing. Maybe this film will finally right that wrong?

‘Mountain Biking: The Untold British Story’ last 70 minutes, and costs £3.99 to rent for 24 hours, and £9.99 to own outright
