Essential Events of Bath, recently appointed organisers of the BA/CTC National Cycling Festival 2000 to be held on York Knavesmire, 23rd-25th June next year, have released their first communication on how the show will shape up.
The year 2000 will bring the UK cycling trade the most diverse and unique biking extravaganza ever organised in the UK, says Essentials Elaine Curtin. This is the opportunity to show cycling products to the ultimate end user. Forget tents this is a prestigious show with high quality custom built marquees.or personal stand-alone units if preferred.
Positioned to reach all sectors within cycling this event will target the existing cycling enthusiast, families and newcomers delivering a broad array of cycling and non cycling attractions for their enjoyment.
Essential have teamed up with IPC and their cycle titles to help promote the show. MBR, Mbi, Cycling Weekly, and Cycle Sport will carry constant plugs between now and June.
Further exposure and support is available from other specialist press such as Ride BMX Magazine and DIRT Downhill MTB Magazine, says Curtin, who should know because she sells their ads!
The National Cycling Festival will encompass the traditional activities of the York Rally and there will also be a new programme including mountain biking, BMX, a tuition area, a [Heart Foundation] Party in the Park for Children, mmaintenance areas, an outdoors arena, holiday village and much more.
York City Council and their tourism arm is gearing up for a six month campaign of promotional activity regarding getting people to come to York and the show.
Its a public show but Curtin wants IBDs to come too: As part of our commitment to exhibitors we are keen to provide every opportunity for cycle dealers to be involved. To this end we are to provide complimentary VIP passes for each exhibitor to distribute to their dealer networks along with access to VIP entertainment areas and activities which are not open to the public.
Essential Events are currently looking for sponsors for the event, as well as exhibitors. Space rates begin at £58 per metre and there is a choice of interior and exterior sites.
